RIVERSIDE, N.J. — A Riverside man accused of coercing dozens of underage girls into sending sexually explicit photos and videos has pleaded not guilty to a sweeping indictment in Burlington County.
According to the Burlington County Prosecutor’s Office, 33-year-old Gilmer Briones-Guevara entered a not guilty plea this week in Superior Court. The case will now proceed toward trial.
Briones-Guevara, of West Scott Street, was indicted last month on multiple charges, including 10 counts of first-degree endangering the welfare of a child, two counts of second-degree endangering the welfare of a child, second-degree luring, second-degree enticing a child, second-degree possession of a controlled dangerous substance with intent to distribute, second-degree possession of a firearm while committing certain drug offenses, two counts of third-degree endangering the welfare of a child, third-degree possession of a controlled dangerous substance, and third-degree obscenity to a minor.
Prosecutors said the investigation began after the Prosecutor’s Office High-Tech Crimes Unit received a cybertip from the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children regarding Briones-Guevara’s online activity.
Investigators allege Briones-Guevara engaged in sexually explicit online conversations with approximately 50 underage girls. Authorities said he frequently sent the victims photos and videos of himself masturbating and requested they send similar material in return.
According to prosecutors, 10 of the minors complied, creating and sending child sexual abuse material depicting themselves.
The investigation expanded when authorities executed a search warrant at Briones-Guevara’s residence, where investigators allegedly recovered a handgun and cocaine. Those discoveries led to additional firearms and drug-related charges.
Briones-Guevara has remained lodged in the Burlington County Jail in Mount Holly since his arrest in April.
