Kenny G watches 32821 hit straight and collects two Pick 5 top prizes
SALISBURY, MD – A Salisbury man doubled down on the same five lottery numbers with two separate Pick 5 tickets, then watched 32821 hit straight later that night — handing the longtime player two $50,000 top prizes for a combined $100,000 payday.
The Maryland Lottery identified the winner by the name he uses, Kenny G.
Kenny G purchased both winning tickets July 24 at Salisbury Quick Stop, located at 2513 North Salisbury Boulevard.
He is no stranger to playing identical number combinations on multiple tickets.
According to the Maryland Lottery, Kenny G has previously found success using that strategy with Pick 3 and Pick 4.
This time, he took his approach to Pick 5.
Kenny G placed two separate straight wagers using the same five-digit combination — 32821.
Later that evening, he was home checking the Maryland Lottery app on his phone when he discovered those exact five numbers had been drawn in order.
Both tickets were top-prize winners.
Each delivered $50,000, giving Kenny G a combined $100,000.
The Salisbury resident quickly called relatives and friends to share news of the double hit.
Kenny G has been married for nearly 40 years and has four children and three grandchildren.
He told lottery officials that his winnings will go toward home improvements and helping his family.
Kenny G works as a legal processor and plays poker during his free time.
His double victory also means a payday for the store that sold the tickets.
Salisbury Quick Stop will receive a $1,000 retailer bonus for selling the two top-prize Pick 5 tickets.
One set of numbers and two separate bets ultimately gave Kenny G twice the reason to celebrate.
