Seaside Heights St. Patrick’s Day Parade postponed due to weather

SEASIDE HEIGHTS, NJ – Organizers of the annual Seaside Heights St. Patrick’s Day Parade, the unofficial start to the 2023 tourism season at the Jersey Shore, have decided to postpone this weekend’s parade due to bad weather in the forecast.

The committee held a meeting on Wednesday and decided it was in all parties’ best interest to reschedule the parade for April 1st.

“Due to the incoming weather for this weekend, we will be postponing our parade until April 1st,” the Ocean County St. Patrick’s Day Committee said in post on Facebook. “We apologize for this inconvenience but the safety of all the participants and parade watchers is paramount. We look forward to seeing you on April 1st at noon on the Boulevard.”

The National Weather Service is forecasting near-freezing temperatures and heavy rain in Ocean County on Saturday morning. Nearly two inches of rain are possible before noon, the NWS forecasted.

Wind gusts will be in the 10 to 20 mph range with gusts up to 30 mph anticipated.

The storm is expected to pass quickly, clearing up by the end of the day.
