Serious Crash at Ocean County College Sends One to Trauma Center

TOMS RIVER, N.J. — A motor vehicle accident at Ocean County College early Monday morning required a medical evacuation due to the severity of the incident, officials said.

Emergency responders from Silverton Squad 2913, Pleasant Plains Rescue 3033, and Toms River Police EMS arrived on the scene shortly after the crash was reported. Given the extent of the injuries, authorities requested a Medi-Vac to transport the patient to a trauma center.

Silverton Engine 2931 and Pleasant Plains Engine 3051 established a landing zone to facilitate the safe transfer of the patient to a NorthSTAR or SouthSTAR Air Medical Helicopter. Medics from Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital assisted in providing critical care.

The Toms River Police Department is investigating the cause of the crash, and no further details about the victim’s condition have been released.
