Severn man arrested after Glen Burnie drug bust uncovers loaded gun and narcotics

Glen Burnie, MD – A late-night investigation in Glen Burnie led to the arrest of a Severn man after detectives uncovered a loaded handgun, extended magazine, and multiple drugs during a suspected drug transaction, police said.

The incident occurred around 11:45 p.m. on August 13 in the 7900 block of Silent Winds Court. Detectives with the Eastern District observed what they believed to be an illegal drug deal and approached the suspect, who was seated inside a gray Honda sedan.

During the stop, investigators seized a 9mm Springfield Armory handgun loaded with 16 rounds, a 30-round extended magazine, roughly 97 grams of suspected cannabis, four Suboxone strips, one Oxycodone pill, and a digital scale.

The suspect, identified as 23-year-old Shawn Carter Gross of Severn, was taken into custody and charged with multiple weapons and drug offenses.
