NEWPORT NEWS, VA — The Newport News Police Department is seeking the public’s assistance in identifying a suspect involved in a recent robbery at a local 7-Eleven store. The incident occurred in the early hours of Friday, July 5th, at the store located on the 9500 block of Warwick Boulevard.

According to police reports, at around 12:41 a.m., a shirtless male suspect entered the store and was informed by the clerk of the store’s dress code, which requires a shirt. After being asked to leave, the suspect became hostile and began throwing bananas at the sales counter area. The situation escalated when the suspect brandished a firearm, threatening to harm the employees and rob the store.

The suspect is described as a Black male, between 5’9” and 6’0” tall, wearing blue pants with a white stripe down the side and a distinct tattoo on his chest. Anyone with information about this incident or the suspect’s identity is urged to contact the Newport News Police Department.
