Shots fired call leads police to wounded 20-year-old in Baltimore

Police are searching for answers after a 20-year-old man was shot overnight in Southwest Baltimore.

BALTIMORE, MD — A burst of gunfire in Southwest Baltimore left a 20-year-old man hospitalized early Tuesday as detectives work to identify the person responsible for the shooting.

According to the Baltimore Police Department, officers responded at approximately 12:17 a.m. Tuesday, July 14, to the 200 block of South Monroe Street after receiving reports of shots fired.

When officers arrived, they found a 20-year-old man suffering from apparent gunshot wounds.

Medics transported the victim to an area hospital for treatment. Police have not released an update on his condition.

Southwest District detectives are investigating the shooting and are asking anyone with information to contact investigators at 410-396-2488 or Metro Crime Stoppers at 1-866-7LOCKUP.
