March 15, 2024

CLAIRTON, PA — A report of shots fired into a residence in Clairton sparked a multi-department police response, culminating in a high-speed chase and the arrest of three individuals. The incident began on the morning of March 14, when the Allegheny County Police Department’s General Investigations Unit was called to assist the Clairton Police Department following reports of gunfire.

At around 11:40 am, the Allegheny County 9-1-1 center received notification of shots being fired into a home located on the 800 block of 3rd Street in Clairton. Responding officers quickly gathered information leading to a vehicle believed to be involved in the incident.

The pursuit of the suspects escalated at approximately 12:15 pm when officers from the Whitehall and Brentwood Police Departments located the suspect vehicle traveling along Route 51. An attempt to conduct a traffic stop resulted in three males fleeing the vehicle. One of the individuals was apprehended, while the other two re-entered the vehicle and fled the scene.

The chase continued into Bethel Park, where local police engaged in pursuit of the suspect vehicle. The pursuit ended at 12:44 pm when the vehicle crashed at the intersection of Library Road and Clifton Road. The two occupants attempted to flee on foot but were quickly taken into custody after a brief foot chase.

This coordinated effort among several police departments underscores the commitment to public safety and the swift response to criminal activities in the Allegheny County area. Further details regarding the incident and the identities of those arrested are pending as the investigation continues.
