Tiny Butler County borough erupts as $889273 Cash 5 jackpot hits at local BP
ZELIENOPLE BORO, PA — A single Pennsylvania Lottery ticket sold at a Butler County gas station matched all five numbers in Thursday’s Cash 5 with Quick Cash drawing, delivering a jackpot worth $889,273.50.
The winning numbers drawn were 7-10-12-17-37. The ticket was sold at BP, 225 South Main Street in Zelienople Boro. The retailer will receive a $5,000 bonus for selling the jackpot-winning ticket.
The $889,273.50 prize is subject to applicable withholding. Lottery officials said winners can only be identified after prizes are claimed and tickets are validated.
A main Cash 5 game prize must be claimed within one year of the drawing date. Any prizes won through the Quick Cash component must be claimed within one year of the purchase date. Lottery officials advise anyone holding the jackpot-winning ticket to contact the nearest Lottery office or call 1-800-692-7481 for instructions.
More than 19,300 other Cash 5 with Quick Cash tickets also won prizes in the same drawing. Players are encouraged to check every ticket.
The Pennsylvania Lottery directs all proceeds to programs that benefit older residents. Since ticket sales began in 1972, it has contributed more than $37.2 billion to fund transportation, care services, prescription assistance and local services including senior centers and meals.
For one ticket holder in Butler County, five numbers drawn Thursday night are now worth more than $889,000.
