SOMERSET COUNTY, NJ — The Somerset County Prosecutor’s Office marked National Police Woman Day, observed September 12, by thanking women in law enforcement for their service and recognizing those who paved the way for future generations.
The agency’s public message included special appreciation for women working within its own ranks, citing their commitment, professionalism and daily contributions to the community.
Recognition for service and leadership
“We are especially grateful for the dedicated women within our own agency whose commitment, professionalism, and service make a difference every day,” the office said.
The Somerset County agency also recognized women whose careers helped create opportunities for others. Its message celebrated both those earlier contributions and the officers continuing to inspire the next generation of women in law enforcement.
New Jersey agencies recognize women’s contributions
The September observance has drawn recognition elsewhere in New Jersey. In a 2024 National Policewoman Day tribute, Morris County described women serving in sheriff’s office assignments ranging from K9 handling and crime scene investigations to firearms instruction and community outreach.
SNN has also reported on Seaside Park’s recognition of its first full-time female officer, another local acknowledgment of women’s place in policing.
