Speed demon influencer busted after 192-MPH motorcycle stunt on Connecticut highway

HARTFORD, CONN. — A social media influencer was arrested after authorities say he filmed himself hitting speeds of up to 192 mph while weaving through Connecticut highway traffic — footage that later racked up millions of views online.

Key Points

  • Brice Bennett allegedly reached 192 mph on Connecticut highways in a viral helmet-cam video.
  • State police reviewed 72 videos before arresting him at his Bloomfield home.
  • He faces multiple charges, including reckless endangerment and reckless driving.

Brice Bennett, the man behind the viral videos, was taken into custody at his Bloomfield residence following a lengthy investigation by Connecticut State Police. According to the arrest warrant, officials were tipped off in late December when an anonymous complaint was submitted directly to Gov. Ned Lamont’s office.

The viral video, shot from a helmet-mounted camera, shows a rider identified as Bennett maneuvering a Honda CBR 1000RR Fireblade at extreme speeds along Interstates 84 and 91, spanning from New Haven to Hartford. Police say speeds topped out at 192 mph.

Investigation details

Investigators reviewed 72 videos Bennett uploaded in 2024, many of which displayed “a male… traveling at reckless speeds on public roadways,” according to court documents. Despite disclaimers embedded in the videos claiming “All content is filmed in Mexico” with “no affiliation to the poster,” authorities confirmed the footage was recorded on Connecticut roads.

The helmet-cam footage helped police identify distinct landmarks along I-84 and I-91, verifying the routes taken during the stunts.

Charges and court proceedings

Bennett was charged with reckless endangerment, reckless driving, and failure to drive in the proper lane. He was taken into custody without incident and is expected to appear in court later this month.

Police emphasized the danger such high-speed antics pose to the public and warned that additional charges could be filed as the investigation continues.

A viral thrill ride landed one influencer in handcuffs after topping 192 mph on Connecticut highways.
