Perrysburg man hits $25K Pick 5 jackpot with a $0.50 ticket bought at gas station
Perrysburg, OH – A routine stop at a local gas station turned into a five-figure payday for one Perrysburg resident, who snagged a $25,000 prize off a $0.50 Pick 5 lottery ticket.
The winning ticket was purchased at Speedway #2866, located at 11141 Fremont Pike Rd., where the fortunate player took a chance on the popular Ohio Lottery game. After taxes, the man will take home $18,218.75, according to lottery officials.
The Pick 5 drawing that delivered the windfall took place on Friday, with the winner matching all five numbers on a half-dollar wager. Pick 5 drawings are held twice daily—at 12:29 p.m. and 7:29 p.m.—every day except Saturday evenings.
The Ohio Lottery, which has been in operation since 1974, has funneled more than $34 billion into state education initiatives. Gas stations, convenience stores, and other local retailers continue to serve as key points of access for players across Ohio.
The winner’s identity was not disclosed, as the Lottery does not release names without consent. The Speedway location will also receive a bonus for selling the winning ticket.
