PHILADELPHIA, Sept. 14 — Police are investigating a stabbing and robbery that occurred late Friday night at a mini market on North Broad Street. The incident, which took place around 11 p.m., left one man critically injured.

Officers from SEPTA police found the victim, a store employee, suffering from stab wounds to his right arm. He was transported to Jefferson Hospital and remains in critical condition. Ninth District officers later secured the scene as part of the ongoing investigation.

According to police, the suspect entered the store and used a box cutter to demand money from the cash register. After taking an unknown amount of cash, the suspect attempted to flee. A second employee was stabbed twice when he tried to intervene.

The suspect was later spotted by SEPTA officers underground at 1500 Market Street. Police confirmed that he matched the description provided and was positively identified. Further details about the suspect’s identity are expected once charges are filed.

Northeast Detectives continue to investigate the incident.
