May 17, 2025
Deputies are investigating a Garrison Woods disturbance involving gunfire and a hit-and-run; one arrest has been made, but the shooter remains unidentified.

STAFFORD, Va. — The Stafford County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a chaotic incident in the Garrison Woods subdivision involving shots fired, multiple vehicle crashes, and a suspect fleeing the scene.

Deputies responded just after 1:00 p.m. Thursday following several 911 calls reporting gunfire, auto accidents, and vehicles speeding through the neighborhood. Upon arrival, deputies secured the area and began investigating.

Preliminary findings revealed that an altercation occurred during which shots were fired. One individual involved attempted to flee at a high rate of speed, striking two vehicles. That driver was later apprehended and charged with two counts of hit and run and reckless driving. He is being held at Rappahannock Regional Jail on a $2,000 secured bond.

No injuries were reported from either the gunfire or the vehicle collisions.

The shooter has not yet been identified, and authorities are asking anyone with information to contact the Sheriff’s Office at 540-658-4450.
