STAFFORD, Va. — A 22-year-old man is in custody following a stabbing incident on Warrenton Road Sunday morning. Deputies from the Stafford County Sheriff’s Office responded to Mr. B’s Exxon in the 300 block of Warrenton Road at approximately 9:31 a.m. after receiving reports of a stabbing.

Upon arrival, Deputy J.E. Cordes discovered an adult male victim suffering from multiple life-threatening stab wounds. As the victim was losing a significant amount of blood, Deputy Cordes applied a tourniquet to one arm while Deputy C.D. The suspect, identified as J’Lei Bland of Stafford, was located at a residence on Anvil Road. The Stafford County SWAT and Drone Teams were activated, and deputies established a perimeter around the home. Bland was subsequently called out of the residence and arrested without incident.

Bland has been charged with attempted murder and malicious wounding and is currently being held at the Rappahannock Regional Jail without bond.

The investigation remains ongoing. The Stafford County Sheriff’s Office commended the deputies for their quick and effective life-saving actions at the scene, and they expressed hope for the victim’s full recovery.
