Stafford Man Charged for Attacking Woman at Walmart

STAFFORD COUNTY, VA – A disturbance at a local Walmart resulted in the arrest of a man on multiple charges, according to the Stafford County Sheriff’s Office. The incident, which occurred on June 5 at 6:19 PM at the Walmart located at 125 Washington Square Plaza, started as a verbal argument between a male and a female.

Deputy K.W. Suter responded to the scene where it was reported that the verbal altercation escalated when the male struck the female. A bystander intervened in an attempt to stop the assault but was assaulted himself. The suspect was later found by law enforcement in an intoxicated condition.

The man was charged with two counts of assault and battery and public intoxication. Following the arrest, he was detained at Rappahannock Regional Jail until he was sober.
