Stafford man killed after vehicle strikes tree on Dunbar Drive

STAFFORD, Va. – A 49-year-old Stafford County man was killed Sunday night in a single-vehicle crash on Dunbar Drive, according to the Stafford County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies responded to the area near Rock Hill Church Road around 9:07 p.m. on January 11 and found a vehicle that had left the roadway and struck a tree. The driver, identified as Jeremy Regis of Stafford, was the only person in the vehicle and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Sheriff David “DP” Decatur said the preliminary investigation indicates that speed contributed to the crash. The incident remains under investigation as deputies work to determine the full circumstances leading up to the collision.

No other vehicles were involved, and authorities said there were no signs of foul play.
