STAMFORD, Conn. — Firefighters contained a townhouse fire on Stamford’s West Side on Friday afternoon, preventing significant damage to the building.

The Stamford Fire Department responded to multiple calls about a fire at Liberty Commons Condos on Liberty Street at 2:38 p.m. Upon arrival two minutes later, crews found flames on a second-floor exterior porch of the four-story wood-frame townhouse. Firefighters quickly extinguished the fire before it could spread inside, bringing it under control by 2:49 p.m.

A total of 26 firefighters responded, along with a ladder truck, rescue unit, and deputy fire marshal. No injuries were reported, and no residents were displaced. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
