STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — A 25-year-old man was shot and killed Friday afternoon in front of a building on Bay Street, authorities said.

Police responded to a 911 call at approximately 2:31 p.m. reporting a male shot outside 155 Bay Street, located in the 120th Precinct. Officers arrived to find the victim unconscious and unresponsive with a gunshot wound to the torso.

Emergency Medical Services transported the man to Richmond University Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.

The victim was later identified as Jesse Pimental, 25, of 245 Corona Avenue, Staten Island, police confirmed.

No arrests have been made, and investigators have not yet disclosed a possible motive or suspect description.

The investigation remains active as detectives continue to gather surveillance footage and interview potential witnesses in the area.
