Stewart’s shopper strikes it rich with lottery win

STAMFORD, NY — A TAKE 5 top-prize ticket worth $31,485 was sold in Stamford for the May 21 evening drawing, the New York Lottery announced Thursday.

The winning ticket was purchased at Stewart’s Shops, located at 3 Lake Avenue. The game draws numbers daily at 2:30 p.m. and 10:30 p.m., selecting five numbers from a field of one through 39.

This latest win adds to a streak of TAKE 5 payouts across the state, with top-prize amounts varying depending on the number of players and tickets sold.

Winners have up to one year from the draw date to claim prizes, per New York Lottery rules.

The New York Lottery contributed $3.8 billion in the last fiscal year to support public education across the state.
