BALTIMORE, MARYLAND — In a significant operation on February 5, 2024, members of the Metro Mobile Unit successfully apprehended two suspects following the recovery of a stolen automobile in the Northeast District of Baltimore. The operation commenced at approximately 4:35 p.m. when officers, equipped with License Plate Reader (LPR) technology, were alerted to the presence of the stolen vehicle in the Poplar Grove area.

The pursuit of the stolen vehicle, with aerial assistance from Foxtrot, led officers through the Northeast District, culminating in the suspects abandoning the vehicle and attempting to flee on foot. The quick response of the officers resulted in the arrest of a 16-year-old male and an 18-year-old male.

A thorough investigation at the scene allowed detectives to recover not only the stolen vehicle but also a handgun, two loaded magazines, several cell phones, and quantities of marijuana.
