Subway creep performs lewd act, steals phone from sleeping woman on Brooklyn train

BROOKLYN, NY – A woman awoke to a nightmare aboard a northbound 2 train early Wednesday when she found a man performing a lewd act in front of her before he snatched her phone and fled.

The 29-year-old victim had been asleep on the train around 6:15 a.m. when she opened her eyes to see the unidentified suspect standing over her.

Moments later, the man allegedly reached into a pocket on her sweater and took her cell phone before bolting from the train at Flatbush Avenue.

Investigators described the suspect as a male with a tattoo symbol on his right cheek. He was last seen wearing a black sweatshirt, gray jeans, and black footwear.

Transit cops reviewing surveillance

Authorities are reviewing security footage from the train and station in hopes of identifying the suspect. Detectives are also canvassing nearby areas where the man may have fled.

Police are urging anyone with information to contact the NYPD’s Crime Stoppers Hotline as the investigation continues.
