Subway Thief Sought in NYC

New York, NY – The New York City Police Department is requesting the public’s assistance in identifying and locating an individual wanted in connection with a series of grand larcenies within the 46th Precinct and Transit District 11.

On Tuesday, June 4, 2024, at approximately 11:00 a.m., a 67-year-old female was on the southbound platform of the 182-183 Street (B and D line) subway station. An unknown individual attempted to snatch her phone. The victim yelled, causing the individual to flee without the phone. No injuries were reported.

Later the same day, at approximately 1:30 p.m., a 34-year-old male was sitting on the southbound platform of the same subway station when the same suspect snatched his phone. The individual fled southbound on Webster Avenue on foot. No injuries were reported.

The suspect is described as a male, approximately 6’2” tall, with a dark complexion and a slim build. He was last seen wearing a black hooded sweatshirt with a red cross on the back, white pants with a black stripe, and light-colored sneakers.

Anyone with information regarding the identity or whereabouts of the individual is urged to contact the NYPD.
