NORFOLK, VA – Kevin Ronregus Jones, a 54-year-old man from Suffolk, has been sentenced to 24 years and four months in prison for his involvement in the possession with intent to distribute fentanyl. This sentencing follows an investigation revealing numerous drug sales conducted by Jones between July 28, 2020, and July 15, 2022.

Court documents detail how Jones made several transactions selling heroin, fentanyl, and cocaine to a confidential informant working with federal authorities. Notably, Jones misrepresented fentanyl as heroin in some of these transactions. Additionally, it was reported that on one occasion, Jones involved a 12-year-old boy in a fentanyl sale.

A significant breakthrough came on October 24, 2020, when investigators executed a search warrant at Jones’ drug operation base in Portsmouth. The search led to the seizure of approximately 1,683 grams of fentanyl, 420 grams of powder cocaine, 31 grams of cocaine base, several bags of drug-cutting agents, a drug press, and $24,915, which were identified as proceeds from fentanyl sales.

Following his incarceration, Jones is mandated to undergo 10 years of supervised release.
