WASHINGTON, D.C. — A 15-year-old boy was hospitalized after being shot Friday night in Southeast, as police search for a suspect captured on surveillance images.

Officers responded around 8:19 p.m. to the 1100 block of Half Street Southeast after reports of gunfire, where they found the teen conscious and breathing with gunshot wounds.

DC Fire and EMS transported the victim to a local hospital for treatment. His condition was not released.

Investigators say surveillance cameras captured the suspected shooter in the area, and those images have been released to help identify the person responsible.
