Surveillance Images Released in D.C. Shooting

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Authorities are searching for a suspect involved in a fatal shooting that occurred on Saturday morning in Southeast Washington, D.C.

Officers responded to reports of gunfire at approximately 6:47 a.m. in the 1500 block of Butler Street, Southeast. Upon arrival, they found 38-year-old Davon Mangum, of Southeast, with gunshot wounds in the parking lot of an apartment complex. Mangum was pronounced dead at the scene.

Surveillance cameras captured images of the suspect. Anyone with information regarding the incident is urged to contact the police at (202) 727-9099 or text tips to the Department’s TEXT TIP LINE at 50411. The D.C. Metro Police Department offers a reward of up to $25,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of those responsible for homicides in the District.
