Surveillance Video Key to Solving D.C. Fatal Shooting

WASHINGTON, DC — The D.C. Metro Police Department is intensifying its search for a suspect involved in the fatal shooting of Maurice Downing, a 34-year-old man from Northwest D.C. The tragic incident took place in the early hours of last Wednesday, near the unit block of Hanover Place.

Responding to reports of gunfire around 12:03 AM, officers found Downing in the road, fatally wounded by gunshots. Surveillance footage capturing the suspect has been made available.

Authorities are urging anyone with information to come forward and contact the police at (202) 727-9099 or send a tip via text to the TEXT TIP LINE at 50411. A substantial reward of up to $25,000 is on offer for information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the perpetrator(s) involved in this or any other violent crime within the district.
