Suspect Arrested in Fatal Shooting Of 31-Year-Old in Baltimore

BALTIMORE, MARYLAND – Following the fatal shooting in the Southwest District on December 30th, Baltimore police have apprehended 22-year-old Jerrod Smith.

The incident, resulting in the death of 31-year-old Toby Rogers, occurred during a dispute inside a residence on the 4300 block of Seminole Avenue. Smith was identified as the shooter.

On January 2nd, Smith was taken into custody by detectives and subsequently transported to the Central Booking Intake Facility. He faces charges of second-degree murder and is currently held on a $100,000 bail.

On December 30th, around 10:14 p.m., police found Rogers with gunshot wounds. Despite the arrival of medics, Rogers was pronounced dead at the scene.
