Suspect Flees in Stolen Vehicle After Shooting Delivery Driver

WASHINGTON, DC — Metro Police are seeking assistance in identifying a suspect involved in a shooting and carjacking incident in Northeast Washington.

The event unfolded on Friday night just after 10:30 p.m. when a food delivery driver was accosted at gunpoint on the unit block of 14th Street NE. After the victim handed over his vehicle keys, the assailant shot him, as he mentioned, alerting the police.

The victim was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.

Surveillance footage of the suspect is available for public viewing.
