Suspect in custody after early morning gunfire strikes Greenbelt home

GREENBELT, Md. – Greenbelt Police say a man was arrested early Wednesday morning after gunfire struck a neighbor’s door in a residential area near Parkway and Crescent Road. The incident, reported around 6 a.m., prompted a swift police response and ended without injuries.

According to investigators, a resident called 911 after hearing gunshots and discovering that a bullet had hit their door. Officers quickly located the suspect, who was taken into custody without incident. Police said the firearm used in the shooting was recovered at the scene.

Authorities confirmed that no one was hurt and emphasized that there is no ongoing threat to the community. The suspect’s identity and potential charges have not yet been released.

A Greenbelt resident was arrested after allegedly firing a gun that struck a neighbor’s door early Wednesday morning; no injuries were reported.
