Suspect in DC Shooting Surrenders to Police

WASHINGTON, DC—The Metropolitan Police Department’s First District has successfully apprehended 41-year-old Kevin Snead, who is facing charges for Assault with a Dangerous Weapon.

Snead, a resident of Southeast, DC, and Jumping Branch, WV, surrendered to the First District Police Sub Station on Thursday,, following a warrant issued by the DC Superior Court.

The arrest stems from an incident on April 3, when First District officers were called to the 1500 block of Independence Avenue, Southeast, around 8:45 PM due to reports of gunshots. At the scene, police discovered a vehicle that had been hit by gunfire. Thankfully, no injuries were reported. Investigations indicated that Snead had fired a handgun toward the victims before fleeing the scene.
