Suspect injured in officer-involved shooting in Toledo

TOLEDO, Ohio — A suspect was hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries following an officer-involved shooting Monday afternoon in the 2300 block of Eastgate, according to the Toledo Police Department.

Police said no officers were injured during the incident. The suspect, who was struck during the encounter, was transported to a local hospital for treatment.

The circumstances leading up to the shooting have not yet been released. Authorities said additional information will be provided in a forthcoming news release.

The shooting occurred around mid-afternoon, prompting a law enforcement response to the Eastgate area.

As of Monday evening, the condition of the suspect was reported as stable.
