Suspicious Package in Seaside Heights, Possible Bomb Scare at Community Medical Center

TOMS RIVER, N.J. — Police were dispatched to Kearney Avenue in Seaside Heights on Monday after reports of a suspicious backpack left unattended.

In a separate but related incident, authorities responded to Community Medical Center in Toms River, where a man was reported to have a package strapped to his body. This development led to heightened security measures at the medical facility, with special operations units from surrounding towns arriving on the scene.

The situation prompted a significant police response, as officers worked to secure the area and investigate the potential threat.

Just moments ago, Community Medical Center issued a statement confirming that the situation had been resolved. “State and local law enforcement have just provided the all-clear after conducting a brief investigation at Community Medical Center. A dozen or so patients were temporarily moved out of an abundance of caution and have been safely returned. The safety of our patients and team members is always our number one priority,” the statement read.

The Seaside Heights Police Department has yet to release an official statement regarding the incident on Kearney Avenue. Authorities are continuing their investigation into both situations, and no further details have been provided at this time.
