Swimming at the Cove in Hamilton Shut Down Over Bacteria Bloom

HAMILTON, NJ – Swimming in Lake Lenape at the Cove has been shut down due to high levels of Cyanobacteria (blue-green algae).

“The NJDEP will continue sampling the water and will advise when it is safe to swim. The NJDEP is advising that boating and fishing are still permitted at this time,” the NJDEP said. “The NJDEP has provided the attached Advisory Chart for prohibited and permitted activities.”
