Syracuse Community Mourns the Loss of Officer Michael Jensen

SYRACUSE, NY — The Syracuse Police Department and the Onondaga County Sheriff’s Office are in mourning following the line-of-duty death of Officer Michael Jensen on Sunday, April 14th. Officer Jensen, who joined the Syracuse Police on February 26, 2022, was a dedicated member of the Patrol Division’s Third Platoon.

Throughout his brief but impactful career, Officer Jensen’s commitment to his duties earned him the Officer of the Month award in December 2023. Known for his pride in serving the city he lived in, his loss is deeply felt across the community. Officer Michael Jensen’s legacy of service and dedication will be forever remembered by his colleagues and those he served.
