Federal Task Force to Visit Universities on Anti-Semitism Allegations
**Washington, D.C.** – The Federal Task Force to Combat Anti-Semitism has announced visits to 10 universities following reports of antisemitic incidents since October 2023. This initiative follows President Trump’s Executive Order aimed at addressing antisemitic harassment at educational institutions.
Leading Task Force member and Senior Counsel to the Assistant Attorney General for Civil Rights, Leo Terrell, informed the universities of the Task Force’s awareness regarding potential failures in protecting Jewish students and staff. The Task Force plans to engage with university authorities, affected individuals, law enforcement, and community members to gather information and assess the need for further action.
Mr. Terrell emphasized the commitment of President Trump, Attorney General Pamela Bondi, and the Administration to ensuring campus safety and inclusion for individuals of all religions. He stated that the Task Force’s work is part of broader efforts to combat anti-Semitism in schools.
The universities identified for visits include Columbia University, George Washington University, Harvard University, Johns Hopkins University, and New York University. Other institutions are Northwestern University, the University of California at Los Angeles, the University of California, Berkeley, the University of Minnesota, and the University of Southern California.
