ALLENTOWN, Pa. — The Allentown Police Traffic Safety Unit and Pennsylvania State Police issued 22 speeding tickets during a joint enforcement operation on American Parkway on December 10, authorities said.

The operation, conducted to emphasize the dangers of speeding during wet and potentially snowy road conditions, targeted drivers exceeding the posted 40 MPH speed limit. Police reported that the highest speed recorded during the detail was 71 MPH.

In a statement, the Allentown Police Department urged drivers to adhere to speed limits, particularly during hazardous weather conditions, to ensure the safety of all road users.

“Your safety is our top priority,” the department said in its announcement, emphasizing the importance of safe driving practices in minimizing accidents.

Local law enforcement officials regularly conduct traffic safety operations to deter speeding and improve roadway safety for motorists and pedestrians alike.
