CRANFORD, NJ — The Cranford Police Department celebrated its 3rd Annual Cops & Bobbers Kids Fishing Derby with local children and officers gathering at Nomahegan Park. The event encouraged community interaction and participation between law enforcement and young residents.

Cranford Renewal by Anderson and Unity Bank generously sponsored the derby, expressing commitment to the community. Carmen Cerreto, Vice President of Unity Bank, played a significant role in supporting the initiative. This tradition aims to strengthen bonds and provide enjoyable outdoor activities for children.

The event witnessed notable participation, highlighting the community’s enthusiasm for engaging with local police officers. Children and officers, together at the park, shared fishing techniques and celebrated the day’s achievements. The derby showcased unity and cooperation within the community.

The Cranford Police Department shared images from the event, celebrating the winners and participants. An official highlighted the success of the event stating, “Thanks to all those who came out to fish with our finest, and to each officer who participated in this great new tradition.”

Macon County Hosts Annual Shop with a Cop Event

**Macon, NC** – The Macon County Sheriff’s Office recently hosted its annual Shop with a Cop event, providing a festive Christmas experience for about 233 local children.

Support from organizations and individuals through generous donations made the event possible. Children were able to shop for gifts and then gathered at the FHS cafeteria to enjoy pizza with officers.

During the event, participants took photos with Santa and received books from the Read•2•Me program to foster a love for reading. Sheriff Brent Holbrooks expressed commitment to continuing the event as long as he remains in office.

A retrospective photo from the 2010 event was shared to engage the community in recalling past participants.

Willingboro Sets Date for Annual Tree Lighting Ceremony

**Willingboro, NJ** – Willingboro Township is hosting its annual tree lighting ceremony on Friday, December 6 at 7:00 PM. The event will take place at the Municipal Complex located at 1 Reverend Dr. MLK Jr. Drive in Willingboro, New Jersey.
