Hanover township man receives prison sentence for online child interaction
MORRISTOWN, N.J. — Hanover Township resident Brian J. Cariddi, 40, has been sentenced in connection with engaging in inappropriate online communications with a child from North Carolina. Cariddi pled guilty to a charge of Endangering the Welfare of a Child, a second-degree offense.
Judge Claudia Jones, on Tuesday, sentenced Cariddi to three years in New Jersey State Prison, with a condition that he serves 18 months without parole eligibility. Cariddi will face Parole Supervision for Life upon his release and is required to comply with Megan’s Law. As part of his sentencing, he is prohibited from having any contact with the victim.
The case involved Cariddi conducting explicit online conversations with a 9-year-old child between December 11, 2022, and January 10, 2023. During these interactions, Cariddi exposed himself and solicited explicit images from the victim. These actions led to his arrest on March 8, 2024, resulting from an investigation by local authorities.
The Morris County Prosecutor’s Office, in collaboration with the Hanover Township Police Department, investigated the case. Prosecutor Robert Carroll acknowledged the contributions of the Internet
Former Brooklyn Teacher Sentenced for Child Exploitation
**Brooklyn, NY** – A former Brooklyn math teacher has been sentenced to seven years in prison following a guilty plea to charges of using a child in a sexual performance and endangering the welfare of children. Winston Nguyen, 38, admitted to persuading teenage students from four independent schools in Brooklyn to send him sexually explicit images. He assumed the persona of a young teen and used Snapchat to engage in sexual conversations with his victims.
Brooklyn District Attorney Eric Gonzalez announced the sentence on Wednesday. The defendant, previously employed at Saint Ann’s School in Brooklyn Heights, must register as a sex offender upon his release. The victims, aged 13 to 15, attended elite schools and were targeted between October 2022 and May 2024.
Nguyen used two Snapchat accounts under the aliases “hunterkristoff” and “haircutbongos” to interact with six children, pretending to be a teenage boy. He sent nude images and videos to his victims and compelled them to send back content of themselves engaged in sexual acts. These accounts were traced to IP addresses linked to Nguyen’s Harlem residence.
The case was investigated by KCDA Detective Investigators along with the District Attorney

Kentucky Man Sentenced to 30 Years for Child Exploitation
**Walton, KY** – A Kentucky resident was sentenced to 30 years in prison for producing child sexual abuse material (CSAM) while in the Philippines.
Court documents state that Robert Maxwell Werner, 46, from Walton, Kentucky, engaged in illegal activities between February 2021 and November 2021. Werner reportedly bought access from a Filipino associate to several minor victims for various sexual activities and also paid for customized CSAM. He is accused of sexually abusing minors during five in-person meetings at different locations in the Philippines and providing them with money and basic necessities.
Werner’s plea agreement includes an admission of engaging in sexually explicit acts with at least one minor to create visual depictions from July 2021 to November 2021. He further admitted to transporting this material into the U.S. and continued soliciting CSAM after his return to the country.
The FBI’s Child Exploitation Operational Unit, along with Philippine authorities, investigated the case. It was prosecuted by Trial Attorney Rachel L. Rothberg and Assistant U.S. Attorney Erin Roth as part of Project Safe Childhood, an initiative addressing child sexual exploitation and abuse.
