Allentown Man Sentenced to 9 to 24 Years for Sexual Assault and Child Exploitation

June 20, 2024

HARRISBURG, PA – Attorney General Michelle Henry announced that Jacob Torres, 33, of Allentown, has been sentenced to 9 to 24 years in prison for sexually assaulting a minor and disseminating child sexual abuse material online.

Torres was convicted of multiple charges, including Statutory Sexual Assault, Involuntary Deviate Sexual Intercourse, Aggravated Indecent Assault, Corruption of Minors, Unlawful Contact with a Minor, Sexual Abuse of Children, and Criminal Use of a Communication Facility. As part of his sentencing, Torres is prohibited from contacting minors, having any contact with his victim, and accessing the Internet.

The Office of Attorney General’s Child Predator Section discovered Torres was involved in downloading, viewing, and sharing child sexual abuse materials on his electronic devices. An investigation revealed that Torres had initiated contact with a 14-year-old girl he met on MeetMe, a social networking site, in 2015. He lied about his age and engaged in unlawful sexual acts with the minor multiple times.

Attorney General Henry stated, “This defendant has proven without a doubt that he is a threat to the children in our communities. This sentence ensures that he will no longer have access to vulnerable young people, online or in person. Sexual assault of a minor and sharing child pornography are crimes that my office takes very seriously, and we will continue to protect children and hold predators accountable.”

Torres’ conviction and sentencing mark a significant step in safeguarding children and holding offenders accountable for their actions.
