Teen Arrested for Central Park Attack on New York City Cop

NEW YORK, NY — The New York City Police Department has issued a public appeal for assistance in identifying suspects involved in an assault on an officer in Central Park.

The incident occurred on Friday, May 24 in the afternoon in Central Park, near West Drive and West 90th Street.

At approximately 4:05 PM, while on duty and riding a marked scooter, an officer was attempting to escort three motorcyclists out of the park.

During the encounter, one of the motorcyclists struck the officer, causing him to fall to the pavement.

The assailants fled the scene, and their current whereabouts are unknown. The injured officer was taken to Mount Sinai Morningside Hospital, where he received treatment for minor injuries.

Police arrested 18-year-old Brent Rosa of the Bronx for the attack earlier this week.
