Teen Arrested for Robbery and Assault on South Main Street

A robbery and assault incident led to the arrest of a 16-year-old male from Wilkes-Barre on June 19th, 2024, at approximately 8:57 p.m. The incident occurred at the intersection of South Main and East Northampton Streets.

Wilkes-Barre City Police were called to the scene following reports of a fight in progress. Upon arrival, officers encountered an 18-year-old male victim who reported being physically assaulted by an acquaintance. According to the victim, the suspect approached him on South Main Street, struck him multiple times, and then forcibly stole his shoes before fleeing.

Police were able to quickly identify the suspect, who was later apprehended and charged with robbery and assault.
