Teen arrested in 14th Street shooting weeks after late-night gunfire
Washington, DC — A shooting that left a man wounded in Northwest earlier this year has led to an arrest after investigators tracked down a suspect using surveillance footage.
The incident occurred around 2:04 a.m. on February 18 in the 2900 block of 14th Street Northwest. Responding officers found an adult male suffering from a gunshot wound. He was conscious and breathing and transported to a hospital with injuries described as non-life-threatening.
Detectives later reviewed nearby security camera footage, which helped develop leads in the case.
On Wednesday, April 22, police arrested 18-year-old Jamari Devontae Jackson of Southeast, D.C. He has been charged with Assault with a Dangerous Weapon (Gun).
The investigation remains ongoing as authorities continue to review evidence and gather additional information.
