BRONX, NY – A 14-year-old boy was taken into custody this week in connection with a shooting that left two people wounded on a busy Bronx street.
The New York City Police Department said the teen was arrested and charged Monday at 6:30 p.m. following an ongoing investigation in the 48th Precinct.
The unidentified young suspect faces two counts each of Attempted Murder, Criminal Possession of a Weapon, and Reckless Endangerment.
Officials said the charges stem from a September 30 shooting that injured a man and woman outside 2382 Webster Avenue just before 6 p.m.
Victims hit during early evening gunfire
Investigators reported that a 36-year-old man was struck in the leg and hip, while a 35-year-old woman was grazed in the ankle during the attack. The gunman fled eastbound on East 187th Street after the shooting.
Emergency medical personnel rushed both victims to Saint Barnabas Hospital, where they were listed in stable condition.

Police seek public’s help in earlier appeal
Before the arrest, detectives had released images of a suspect wanted for the shooting and asked the public for assistance identifying the individual.
Authorities have not released the teen’s name due to his age, and the investigation remains active as police determine whether others were involved.
