BRONX, NY – A 15-year-old boy has been arrested and charged in connection with the fatal shooting of a Bronx man killed in broad daylight last month, police said.
The teen, whose name was not released due to his age, was taken into custody on August 28 at approximately 1 p.m. in the 43rd Precinct. He is charged with two counts of murder, robbery, and two counts of criminal possession of a weapon.
The arrest follows the August 26 shooting of Kelvin Mosquea, 34, who was found with a gunshot wound to the torso near his home on Croes Avenue around 1:11 p.m. Responding officers discovered him unconscious and unresponsive. EMS transported him to NYC Health + Hospitals/Jacobi, where he was pronounced dead.
Mosquea, who lived on Croes Avenue, was later identified as the victim in the homicide investigation.
Police have not released additional details about the events leading to the shooting or the relationship between the victim and the suspect.
The case remains under active investigation.
