Teen Charged with Murder in Fatal Queens Shooting

Queens, NY – A 15-year-old male has been charged with murder in the second degree and criminal possession of a weapon for allegedly shooting and killing a motorist on Farmers Boulevard on Tuesday afternoon. The defendant, an alleged gang member, is accused of firing a 9mm handgun multiple times near a Popeyes restaurant following a dispute with a rival gang member.

The motorist, 66-year-old William Alcindor, was not the intended target but was struck once in the head and twice in the body while driving by in his Nissan Rogue. The vehicle subsequently veered off the road and hit a nearby pedestrian.

District Attorney Melinda Katz noted the grievous impact of the incident, stating, “A 66-year-old father of three is now dead and an innocent pedestrian is seriously injured because of the defendant’s alleged actions.” She extended thoughts to the victim’s family and the hospitalized pedestrian.

The juvenile appeared before Judge Edward Daniels last night, facing charges of murder in the second degree and two counts of criminal possession of a weapon in the second degree. The court remanded the defendant, requiring him to return today. If convicted, he faces up to
