Teen girl in critical condition after Harlem Avenue shooting in Baltimore

BALTIMORE, MD — A 16-year-old girl is fighting for her life after being shot while riding in a vehicle in Southwest Baltimore on Tuesday afternoon, police said.

Officers responded just after 3:16 p.m. on September 30 to the 3700 block of Harlem Avenue for reports of gunfire. Shortly afterward, a vehicle arrived at a nearby hospital with the wounded teen inside.

Police said the victim had been struck in the upper body when someone opened fire on the vehicle she was in. The driver rushed her to the hospital, where she remains listed in critical condition.

Southwest District shooting detectives are leading the investigation. No suspects have been identified, and the motive remains unclear.
