Teen Killed in E-Bike Crash in Riverdale Park

RIVERDALE PARK, Md. — The Prince George’s County Police Department’s Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Unit is investigating a fatal collision involving an e-bike that occurred in the town of Riverdale Park on August 14, 2024. The victim, identified as 19-year-old Jorge Martinez-Martinez of Hyattsville, passed away on August 20 from injuries sustained in the crash.

The incident took place at approximately 10:00 p.m. near the intersection of Riverdale Road and 58th Avenue. According to the preliminary investigation, Martinez-Martinez was riding an e-bike in the eastbound lanes of Riverdale Road when he collided with a sedan.

The driver of the sedan remained at the scene and was not injured in the collision.

The investigation is ongoing as authorities work to determine the circumstances leading up to the crash.
