MILWAUKEE, Wis. – An 18-year-old Milwaukee man has been arrested and charged with second-degree reckless homicide after allegedly shooting and killing his father in front of relatives, authorities said.

Corey D. Williams Jr. is accused of fatally shooting his 47-year-old father just two weeks after being kicked out of the home. He was taken into custody last week, according to court records.

Milwaukee Police responded to the shooting around 2:40 p.m. on July 2 at an apartment complex in the 1100 block of W. Atkinson Avenue. The 911 call was placed by Williams’ grandmother, who told dispatchers, “My grandson shot his daddy up there,” according to a probable cause affidavit.

Police have not released further details on what led up to the shooting or the events inside the apartment.

Williams is being held on the homicide charge involving a dangerous weapon. The case remains under investigation.
