Teen arrested in 2024 DC murder case as fugitive task force closes in
Washington, DC — A teenager has been arrested in connection with a fatal shooting that occurred in Northeast Washington nearly two years ago, authorities said.
The case dates back to November 1, when officers responded around 3:54 a.m. to the 100 block of 44th Street Northeast, where they found a man suffering from a gunshot wound.
The victim, identified as 28-year-old Dwaun Simpson of Southeast DC, was pronounced dead at the scene.
On April 30, members of the Capital Area Regional Fugitive Task Force located and arrested 19-year-old Zy’Kheim Bryant of Northeast DC.
Bryant has been charged with second-degree murder while armed, according to the Metropolitan Police Department.
The investigation remains ongoing.
